What is ISOFIX?
ISOFIX is a standardized international fastening system, which offers the safest, easiest and fastest way to correctly install a child seat in a car without using the vehicle's seat belts. The name ISOFIX comes from ISO (International Standardization Organisation) and FIX (Fixing). The child seat's ISOFIX connectors create a rigid connection between the child seat and the car frame. Since 2006 all new cars are equipped with ISOFIX. ISOFIX is also present in a large number of cars manufactured before 2006.
Why does FamilyFix3 have a support foot?
The support foot performs various functions, for example it prevents the seat from tipping over in the event of an accident. If the support leg is not used, the seat can be thrown forward in the event of a frontal collision and the child can hit the front seat or the dashboard. The support foot is also equipped with light and sound indicators that help the parent in the installation.
I noticed that there is some space between the FamilyFix3 base and my car seat. It's safe?
This is because in some cars the ISOFIX anchors are positioned higher than the vehicle seat. If the 2 ISOFIX connectors and the FamilyFix3 support foot are inserted correctly (green indicators on), the product is installed correctly. The support foot can be adjusted in height to reduce the gap. This gap does not affect security in any way and you are not allowed to fill the gap in any way.
Why is the FamilyFix3 base equipped with a removable anti-tip bar?
To enable an optimal fit in even more cars, the FamilyFix3 is equipped with a removable and adjustable anti-roll bar. This is possible by pulling out the anti-roll bar and adjusting the knobs located on the left and right rear side from 1 (100° angle) to 2 (95° angle) and putting it back the rollover bar.
