Several sponges

Sea sponge

Certainly in this context the sea sponge assumes a predominant role. Thanks to its composition, it is perfect for cleansing your baby with the utmost delicacy without risking irritating their delicate skin. Once immersed in water, it is very soft and ensures excellent absorbency, precisely because its structure does not absorb the detergent but distributes it all over the body.

Marine sponges, albeit very delicately, manage to remove dead cells, reproducing an excellent exfoliating effect. Very useful feature in children suffering from seborrheic dermatitis or, more commonly called, cradle cap.

Sponge in cellulose and vegetable fibres

Hypoallergenic and dermatologically tested, the baby sponge in cellulose and vegetable cotton and linen fibers is a soft sponge that is particularly delicate on the skin. Definitely a cheaper sponge than a sea sponge, but which will equally guarantee moments of well-being for your little one. Its reinforced edge increases its durability over time.

Sponge with elastic band

To ensure a secure grip on the sponge, there are models that have an elastic band where you can insert your hand. This will allow you parents to be able to hold the sponge firmly with one hand and with the other to be able to hold your child still if he is particularly lively during the bath. This way you can avoid unpleasant accidents.

Bath glove

The sponge glove is a glove-shaped sponge that can be worn as such. Very practical and comfortable, it often has an internal pocket where you can put liquid soap so that it can always be ready for use.

Bathroom knob

A valid alternative to marine or synthetic sponges is the organic cotton sponge bathroom knob. Also suitable for the most sensitive skins and therefore for your children. Soft and useful for cleansing the skin and exfoliating it lightly. After its use it can be hung using the special hook.

Puppet gloves

As your child grows you can use the puppet gloves, perfect for having fun during the bath with mum and dad. Soft and easy to rinse thanks to the microfibre fabric.

Animal sponges for the bath.

When your child has achieved a little autonomy, you can transform daily hygiene into a game by opting for fun sponges of various shapes and colours. Sponges for children, always indicated for delicate skins, but which will involve the child during the bath and will certainly make him more fun.

How to use the sponge

The child, or newborn, should be washed using a soft and delicate sponge, with delicate movements that start from the little head, then descend all over the body, up to the feet. Leave the genitals and bottom last to avoid carrying bacteria around the rest of the body.

It is not necessary to use a lot of detergent because a few drops on the sponge are enough. Finally, rinse the sponge well to remove all soap residue and wipe it all over the body.

Now the little one is ready to be wrapped in a warm and soft towel with which he must be dabbed and not rubbed.

Sponge cleaning

It is a good idea to rinse the sponge thoroughly after use and leave it to dry perfectly in a dry place.

We recommend washing the sponge every month with water and baking soda, leaving it in this solution for at least a couple of hours. Natural sponges, thanks to their system of internal channels, are defined as self-cleaning, so they do not require special cleaning care. In any case, given its continuous use and the natural deterioration that could result from it, it is advisable to replace the sponge after a few months. The sponge will thus always be performing but above all safe since small parts could accidentally become detached, dangerous since they can be potentially ingested by your little one.
