Children's biscuits and biscuits: solid and granulated

Early childhood biscuits are a tasty food, particularly appreciated by children between one meal and another and for breakfast, able to offer numerous nutritious and easy to digest elements.
These are foods that offer a good source of both simple (providing immediately available caloric intake) and complex (producing slow-release energy that is used over time) carbohydrates.
They are also enriched with proteins of animal origin (those present in milk) and vegetable (present in flour).
In particular, milk proteins contain numerous essential amino acids that the human body is unable to produce. They are then supplemented with vitamins (group B and vitamin C) and minerals (phosphorus, calcium, iron, copper and zinc).

What are baby biscuits for?

Being solid food, this type of biscuit is used to accustom the child to use his teeth in the first months of life, in fact chewing is a gradual process that must be started with easy-to-swallow foods to avoid dangerous choking phenomena.
The biscuits for early childhood are formulated in such a way as to be solid, but, after chewing, they can easily dissolve in the presence of saliva which helps to make them soft and easy to swallow.

Some types of biscuits for early childhood

There are various types of biscuits for early childhood: in particular those for the first months are foods that can be used starting from the fourth month of life, as they are gluten-free, which is a protein present in many cereals which, if introduced before the six months of life, could cause disturbances or food intolerances, dangerous for the intestinal mucosa.
From 6 to 12 months, biscuits formulated both in granular and solid form are suggested, but in any case soluble, to be easily used in milk, yoghurt or even in grated or homogenised fruit. They are made from cereals and contain gluten, which at this age can be digested by the child.

The solid form

Finally, after the first year of life, baby biscuits in solid form are used, which do not crumble and have excellent digestibility; they can be crunched without danger of suffocation, as they are dissolved by the salivary juices. Their not too sweet taste usually stimulates the appetite of children who like them as an ingredient for breakfast or as a snack. Their formulation is often enriched with vitamins and minerals, essential for the correct growth of the child.
