Immediately after giving birth, the first doubts that arise in new mothers are usually about the health and appearance of the baby. For example, reddened skin, dots, hair from the very first days can in fact "frighten". Here are some useful tips to live the first days of your baby's life in peace.
In addition to the aesthetic aspect, which is the most evident thing in everyone's eyes, there are other considerations that it is advisable to make to allow the newborn's ability to adapt to life outside the mother's womb.
The Apgar index is an "evaluation" that is assigned to the newborn, by the obstetrician and gynecologist, after evaluating some of its characteristics between the 1st and 5th minute of life. To rate it, skin tone, heart rate, respiratory activity, muscle tone, and crying strength must be taken into account, and so each of these is assigned 0 to 2 points. A newborn with a score equal to or greater than 7 is evaluated as "in good or very good health". But if the child has a lower score it does not necessarily mean that he is abnormal: however the child will have to be monitored more carefully in his motor and cognitive development.
